Time for tea

The franchise has agreed a ten year lease on a 1,065 sq ft retail unit at 50a New Street with Hortons’ Estate Limited.

Bubble tea is a Taiwanese milky, sugary tea-based drink invented in the 1980s. Made using tea leaves, tapioca balls – known as ‘pearls’ – are added to give the drink its distinctive look and taste.

T4 was founded in 2004 and has ten stores across the UK. The new Birmingham store is due to open in October.

Richard Walker from Hortons’ said: “T4 is a successful franchise business, with outlets in a number of prominent retail centres around the country. We’re looking forward to the company bringing its unique style of tea to Birmingham.”

Wright Silverwood advised Hortons’ on the letting.
